Our team was thrilled when Ken and Jeannette Katz of Buenos Dias Cafe reached out to us to discuss their new venture — La Bodega, a Market and Pupuseria concept to be located at the MET. The duo had recently expanded their Atlanta footprint from Downtown Atlanta into South West Atlanta — specifically in the heart of the Adair Park neighborhood. For their new initiative, our team created a new brand, website, and content to launch a new e-commerce portal.

Ingrained in La Bodega’s philosophy are the many experiences that Ken and Jeannette have collected through their time traveling across the globe. It was important that the brand reflected the character of places such as the New York City Bodegas and small corner shops in Italian villages (where the couple spent several months abroad). Tying this international theme together is Jeannette’s El Salvadorian heritage and the recipes inspired by her grandmother. Our team crafted designs with bold colors and a warm welcoming feel.

The West End neighborhood (near the MET) has been historically seen as a food desert. Our clients wanted to fill that void with freshly prepared drinks, takeaway meals, and a grocery that provides locally sourced produce and products. Our team carefully considered the user experience when shopping for a quick bite to eat and more while building a custom e-commerce platform. La Bodega customers are able to easily view the menu from the convenience of their home or any mobile device and place an order for curbside pickup.

Owners Ken and Jeannette Katz were brought together by a passion for food and culture. In 2012, they opened Buenos Dias Cafe in downtown Atlanta. The pair was inspired by the flavors of San Francisco's melting pot, the accessibility of New York City's bodegas, the familiarity of small-town Italian shopkeepers and the island flavors found in Miami. Together the couple was determined to bring the culture of community and local food to Atlanta. Along with them, they bring over 40-years of dining and hospitality experience. Selecting their products with care from farmers and vendors with the neighborhood in mind.

Because of COVID-19 precautions, our teams kicked off the discovery session in an entirely unique way— socially distanced at our studio and with additional team members joining virtually.

Throughout this experience, our team was committed to supporting our client's goals to introduce new customers to fresh Salvadorian inspired food. We are proud to provide the necessary tools for our client, La Bodega to succeed.
