A Chil 2019

What a year 2019 has been!

As we reflect on not only the end of the year but the end of the decade, we can’t help but reminisce about all that has changed in the last 365 days at our company. It has evolved from a small team depending on freelancers to a multi-faceted creative force in the city of Atlanta. This evolution is what brought us to a new name for our agency earlier this year: Chil & Co. As our team has grown over the years, the new name reflects the diverse group of creatives and strategic personnel within our agency’s identity. Our wonderful staff is the heart of our organization and we wanted to make sure our new identity reflects that sentiment.

As many of you know we took a huge step at the beginning of the year and moved into a 3,350 square foot studio of our own at the MET. From working in coffee shops to co-working spaces (S/O Edgar Allan, Alkaloid, Switchyards, Dancing Goats and Octane) the feeling of having our very own place to call home has been an amazing experience. Here, we are able to stretch both physically and creatively. Although we enjoyed the intimacy of our older spaces, we are grateful for the opportunities we now have in our studio. This space has allowed us to pivot our Chil Studios brand into one that’s able to provide content creators and the general public with an affordable and reliable resource for their creative needs.

Here’s a quick peek at our studio space:

The space needed work to make it our own. We painted the walls and floors, ripped out walls, laid down new concrete and so much more. Very special to our team is this hand-painted mural by artist and fourofour collective member George F. Baker III. We can’t thank George enough for bringing his artwork into our space.

Aside from the name, aesthetic changes and a new address the biggest change has come from the growth of our team. This year we have added project managers, account managers, videographers, social media managers, business developers, designers and a team of kick-ass interns. Back in January, we had no idea how quickly we would grow our team and today we continue to seek out new talent.

We are so proud of our incredibly talented team and their enthusiasm for content creation. We are especially proud to foster a team of diverse creators and leaders. Together we have made original videos, taken beautiful photographs, grown social media accounts, written industry blog posts, shared impactful newsletters, and designed responsive websites. We have used our passion for storytelling to tell honest and compelling stories that represent our client’s identity and brand.

Along with our in-house team, we’ve had the privilege of working with some very talented artists, interns and consultants this year, here’s a notable few:

The ability to foster creativity and support professional growth has been one of our main goals. Compared to any other year 2019 has been the time we have had the most opportunities to share our resources with those in our community. Whether it is helping to develop young creators through our internship programs, hosting learning workshops in our office, or opening our studio doors to the fourofour collective- we are grateful for the opportunity to share experiences with others.

Speaking of fourofour, we have been able to do some pretty exciting things in 2019…

Hosted 7 Meetups
Launched 4 New Merchandise Designs
Collaborated with 5 Atlanta Artists
#nokidsincages Campaign

Fourofour has always been about providing a space for creators to feel inspired, foster collaboration, and giving people a platform. This year we really leveraged the creativity and the passion of the fourofour community. When news reports of family separation were broadcast across the air it only felt right to use our platform for good. Through our #nokidsincages campaign, we hope we were able to bring awareness and direct resources to organizations like raices that are fighting for the values we believe in.

As we look back over all of the changes we are filled with gratitude. Our passion for storytelling and content creation is constantly ignited by the community around us. We are excited to jump into 2020 ringing in the new year and a new decade. We can’t wait to share with you all that is in store.
