JUNIOR ART DIRECTOR

Location: Atlanta, GA (local to the Metro Atlanta area or able to commute)

Type: Contract, 3 months (with potential to extend)

We’re a creative agency based in Atlanta, and we’re looking for an in-house Junior Art Director who brings strong visual instincts, fresh ideas, and a collaborative spirit. You’ll work closely with our creative team to help concept, design, and execute work across multiple platforms while continuing to grow your craft.

This is a 3-month contractor role, with the possibility of extension for the right fit.

What You’ll Do

Quality Review & Brand Consistency (approximately 60% of role)

  1. Review creative projects to ensure high-quality execution and alignment with creative direction

  2. Provide thoughtful feedback and clear creative guidance to the team

  3. Maintain consistency in visual elements across all platforms and deliverables

  4. Ensure all work adheres to established brand guidelines while thoughtfully pushing creative boundaries

Content Creation

  1. Assist in creating visual assets, including graphics, layouts, and illustrations

  2. Execute designs based on established concepts while meeting project objectives and timelines

  3. Support photography and videography needs during productions or as needed to fill creative gaps

Collaboration

  1. Work closely with Creatives, Project Managers and the Creative Director

  2. Ensure a cohesive and integrated approach across all creative deliverables

  3. Incorporate internal and client feedback into design iterations

Conceptualization & Ideation

  1. Collaborate with the creative team to brainstorm and develop visual concepts for projects

  2. Contribute innovative ideas that elevate the overall creative and design direction

Presentation

  1. Prepare and participate in presentations to clearly communicate and sell design concepts

  2. Support creative leadership in presenting ideas to internal teams and clients

Research & Trend Awareness

  1. Stay up to date on creative trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies

  2. Apply insights to keep work fresh, relevant, and culturally informed

Project Management

  1. Manage multiple creative projects—including photo, design, video, and social—while meeting deadlines

  2. Collaborate with project managers to prioritize tasks, timelines, and deliverables

  3. Support the management of creatives and freelancers to ensure work quality, efficiency, and alignment with team goals

Adaptability

  1. Adapt to evolving project needs, shifting priorities, and client feedback in a fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

  1. 1–3 years of experience in a creative agency or similar environment

  2. A strong portfolio showcasing design thinking, layout, and visual storytelling

  3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite,

  4. Solid understanding of typography, color, and composition

  5. Ability to take direction, manage feedback, and work efficiently under deadlines

  6. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

  7. Motion, video, or animation experience is a plus

Compensation & Length

  1. Hourly Rate: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience and skill set

  2. Schedule: 35 hours per week

  3. Type: Contract role, 3 months, with the possibility of extension
